Shuttle buses frequently connect the capital's airport, Podgorica, with seaside locations in about two and a half hours, with Budva being the first to be reached. Special attention should be paid on the return journey, as the coastal road connecting the north of the country from Castelnuovo at the Croatian border to Ulcinj at the Albanian border is perpetually blocked, causing significant delays for buses heading to the airport. Even departing five hours before the scheduled flight time might not be sufficient. Therefore, it is advisable to arrange a taxi, possibly booking it in advance, to ensure you do not miss your return flight. There is also a second airport on the coast, Tivat, also known as Porto Montenegro Airport.
SIM CARD
In Montenegro, European roaming is not active, so it is necessary to get a local SIM card. These can be purchased almost anywhere, starting from 10 euros for 500MB.
COST OF LIFE
The cost of living is moderately high, with standards comparable to those of European capitals. A dinner with main courses starts at 25 euros, a bottle of local wine starts at 35 euros, and a mid-range hotel costs around 100 euros in July, almost doubling in August.
